JEE Advance exam process

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced is the second stage of the JEE, which is used to determine admission to undergraduate engineering programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs), Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and other engineering institutes that are funded by the government of India.

  1. Eligibility: Candidates who have cleared the JEE Main exam are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. Additionally, students should also meet certain age and number of attempts criteria.

  1. Registration: Candidates will have to register online for the JEE Advanced exam. The registration process includes filling in personal details, educational qualifications, and other relevant information.

  1. Admit Card: After the registration process is complete, candidates can download their admit card. The admit card will have details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, exam center, and other important information.

  1. Exam: The JEE Advanced exam is usually held in the month of May. The exam is divided into two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, which are conducted on the same day. The papers are usually held in the morning and afternoon sessions, respectively.

  1. Results: The results of the JEE Advanced exam are usually announced in the month of June. Candidates can check their results online by visiting the official website of JEE Advanced.

  1. Counseling: Candidates who have cleared the JEE Advanced exam will be eligible for counseling, which is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). During counseling, candidates will have to fill in their choices for colleges and courses.

  1. Allotment: Based on the candidate’s rank, choices filled, and availability of seats, the allotment of colleges and courses will be done.

  1. Reporting: Candidates will have to report to the allotted college and complete the admission process.

    1. Duration: The duration of each paper is 3 hours.

    1. Syllabus: The syllabus for JEE Advanced is based on the syllabus of class 11th and 12th as prescribed by the CBSE.
